A Talk by Alex Avila MA, LPC, LMHC, CSAT-S, CPTT-S, CST, ACS, NCC (Relationship Institute of the Rockies)
About this Talk
Healing and connection cannot happen apart from emotional safety. With their world turned upside down, couples can feel defeated and hopeless after betrayal has taken over their lives. Enduring the pain and uncertainty of betrayal demands tremendous courage and safety. Thankfully, feeling safe is no longer a confusing concept or intangible desire. Identifying, communicating and honoring core needs for safety is essential for couple recovery. Learning about themselves while balancing recovery and respecting boundaries and needs, each partner plays an instrumental role in healing the relationship. When both partners are clear and show up to conversations with emotional safety, true and lasting healing is very possible. Attending this presentation, participants will hear insights and practical techniques to help them honor and protect themselves, request and provide safety, and create new connections that can strengthen hope through the healing process.
