Due to their trauma, partners of sex addicts often feel disempowered and helpless in saving their marriages and families. Trauma often produces anger, which may feel powerful, but it fails to get us the results we want. True empowerment is grounded, quietly strong, and calmly asks for what it needs. When faced with an empowered wife, a husband soon realizes he has two choices: to move on alone or to do the hard work required to gain sobriety and learn empathy.
